Aid Stations

La Sal 4x4 Road mile 9.34 there will be no drop bags

Squaw Springs mile 14.32

Oowah Lake mile 16.83 cut off time 1:00 pm

Geyser Pass mile 20.07

Warner Lake mile 25.95 cut off time 3:30 pm

Miner’s Basin mile 28.39

Kokopelli Trail – La Sal Loop Road W/S mile 32.62 cut off time 5:00 pm.
You must have lights to go on if you arrive at 4:30 – 4:59 pm

Kokopelli Trail – Sand Flats Junct. mile 35.90

Porcupine Trailhead mile 41.18

Eight out of the nine aid stations are fully stocked. Mile 32.62 is a water/Gatorade only. You may have drop bags from Squaw Springs (14.32) to Porcupine Trailhead (41.18). You may not have a drop bag at La Sal Pass 4x4 Road aid station. My attendants leave the afternoon before.

Directions to Pack Creek Picnic Area from town (start line)

From Center and Main St. in Moab travel south on US 191 7.7 miles to the marked turn to the left (Old Airport Road) for the La Sal Loop Road. In little more than a half mile, the road intersects with Spanish Valley Drive. Follow the sign to the right for the La Sal Loop Road for 4.9 miles to the intersection with the Pack Creek Road. Take a right and continue 2.9 miles to the Pack Creek Picnic Area where there is parking and toilets.

and La Sal Loop Rd. Intersection

Squaw Springs and Geyser Pass Aid Stations: ( Squaw Springs 14.32 and Geyser Pass 20.07 for runners)
Make a right onto La Sal Loop rd. drive approximately 7.8 miles to Geyser Pass road, make a right (dirt rd but drivable). Go about 3.0 miles and Squaw Springs aid station (mile 14.32 for runners) will be on your right. If you continue up Geyser Pass road from Squaw Springs, Geyser Pass aid station (mile 20 for runners) is approximately 5 miles. When you approach Geyser Pass there is a fork, with a pine tree in the road, veer left and Geyser Pass aid station is in the clearing.

Oowah Lake Aid Station (16.83 miles for runners)
Make a right on to La Sal Loop Rd. drive approximately 9.1 miles to Oowah Lake turn off. Drive up the dirt road approximately 3.2 miles to lake parking lot. (If turning off of Geyser pass road, make a right on to La Sal Loop Rd. to Oowah Lake, it’s about 1.3 miles to Oowah Lake turn off).

Warner Lake Aid Station (26.0 miles for runners)
Make a right on to La Sal loop rd. drive approximately 10.5 miles to Warner Lake turnoff. Drive up the road approximately 5.0 miles to Warner Lake Campgrounds. (If turning off of Oowah Lake road, make a right on to La Sal Loop Rd. it ’s about 1.4 miles to Warner Lake turn off).

Kokopelli Trail – La Sal Loop Rd. Water Station (Mile 32.62 for runners)
Make a right on to La Sal Loop Rd. and drive approximately 15.4 miles (from Warner Lake turn off it is about 4.9 miles) and it will be on your left with an amazing view!

Miner’s Basin Aid Station turn off
Note: Recommend a very high clearance or 4X4 drive Vehicles
Make a right on to La Sal Loop Rd. and drive approximately 17.0 miles to Miner’s Basin turn off, make a right on to Miner’s Basin Rd.(from Warner Lake turn off it is about 6.5 miles) then drive approximately 3.0 miles to aid station.

Sand Flats Rd. Aid Stations:
Kokopelli – Sand Flats Rd. Aid Station (Mile 35.90 for runners) – Make a left off of La Sal Loop Rd and drive approximately 5.4 miles (from Pack Creek Rd. it is 13.0 miles to Sand Flats Rd. turnoff) This is a dirt road and can get rougher and sandy down from this aid station.

Porcupine Trailhead Aid Station (Mile 41.18 for runners)
Make a left off of La Sal loop Rd. on to Sand Flats Rd. and drive (from Pack Creek Rd. it is 13.0 miles to Sand Flats Rd. turnoff) approximately 10.8 miles. From here the finish line is straight down Sand Flats Rd. about 7 miles. (From the La Sal loop Rd. turn off it is approximately 17.2 miles to finish line).
